Regional attainment rate

 

Number of degree holders (American Community Survey, one-year estimates): This reports the population between 18 and 24 with associate’s or bachelor’s degrees and the population 25 and older with an associate’s, bachelor’s or advanced degree.

Adult postsecondary participation rate (American Community Survey, one-year estimates): This indicates the population 25 and older enrolled in a higher education institution.

College completion rate (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System): This reports first-time, full-time students who enroll in one of Northeast Ohio’s higher education institutions and earn their credentials in 150% of time.

College continuation rate (American Community Survey, one-year estimates): This indicates the number of Northeast Ohio residents age 18 to 24 enrolled in a higher education institution.

On-time high school graduation rate (Ohio Department of Education): This reports the student graduation rate after completing coursework and all standardized tests within four years of starting the ninth grade.

Yearly change in degrees awarded (IPEDS): This indicates the number of degrees awarded by Northeast Ohio Colleges and Universities each year and calculates the difference from the previous year.

Regional attainment rate (American Community Survey, one-year estimates): This reports the number of degree holders in Northeast Ohio divided by the region’s population age 18 and older.

* The 2009 on-time high school graduation rate represents the Ohio Department of Education's old methodology, which is based on a seven year graduation rate.  Only calculations based upon a four-year graduation rate are currently available.
