News - OhioMeansSuccess Helps Students and Families Find College and Career Options
November 15, 2012 — Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor Jim Petro announced today the immediate availability of a new website to help students and families navigate the college and career selection process.
The new statewide college and career information website, OhioMeansSuccess, brings together the best resources available online to one place where students and families can chart a path to access and complete a postsecondary certificate or degree.
The Ohio Board of Regents recently announced Complete College Ohio, its plan to increate college completion in the state. OhioMeansSuccess will play an instrumental role in increasing awareness of the importance of postsecondary education throughout the state.
NOCHE and WVIZ/WCPN ideastream collaborated with the Ohio Board of Regents to create OhioMeansSuccess. The development of OhioMeansSuccess combined NOCHE’s expertise in higher education and leadership of college completion initiatives and ideastream’s considerable experience creating state-of-the-art educational multimedia programs. The features of OhioMeansSuccess include the following:
- A guide that asks questions to provide the most relevant content to users,
- Personalization that allows users to save important and helpful links in their “backpack” and receive customized emails, and
- An interactive college search engine that automatically changes results as users enter their interests and preferences.
