News - NOCHE Welcomes University of Phoenix

December 11, 2012 – The NOCHE Board of Trustees today approved membership status for the University of Phoenix’s Cleveland-based campuses, joining 15 other institutional members.  Dr. Angela Sanson, Director of Academic Affairs at University of Phoenix Beachwood Learning Center, joins NOCHE’s Board effective immediately.

“NOCHE represents the collective interest of the higher education community in Northeast Ohio, including public, private and for-profit institutions,” said NOCHE Executive Director Ann Womer Benjamin.  “Dr. Sanson brings a wealth of experience and the important perspective of one of the nation’s largest higher education providers to NOCHE’s Board.”

The University of Phoenix opened its first Cleveland-based campus in 2000, and currently enrolls more than 3,000 students.  University of Phoenix offers a variety of programs in business, health administration, information technology and nursing.

Earlier this year, NOCHE’s Board membership expanded with two new trustees: Dr. Robert J. Shaw, Chief of the Business Development and Partnership Office at NASA Glenn, and Jack Schron, President of Jergens, Inc. and member of Cuyahoga County Council.
