News - Northeast Ohio colleges announce for internship seekers

August 28, 2013 – The Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education (“NOCHE”) and eight area colleges and universities part of the state’s Ohio Means Internships and Co-ops initiative announce the immediate availability of, a new website for students and employers to learn about internships and co-ops in Northeast Ohio.
Cleveland State University, Cuyahoga Community College, Eastern Gateway Community College, Kent State University, Lakeland Community College, Lorain County Community College, Stark State College, and Youngstown State University have come together with NOCHE and developed a simple, easy-to-use web page for students seeking advice about internships.  Students can link directly to their career center’s website, peruse a list of available internships in the Ohio Means Internships and Co-ops program, and request a consultation with a career counselor at their school.
Organizations that hire interns can use the web page to find contacts at the Northeast Ohio schools, advertise internship or co-op positions, and consult with a NOCHE staff member about enhancing their internship program.
All internship and co-op positions submitted through the web page are shared with the state’s database at, NOCHE’s NEO Talent Exchange, and the databases of the participating schools.
Ohio thrives when its students find internships that lead to jobs.  To enhance the connection between students and companies, the Ohio Board of Regents announced in 2012 an $11 million state investment with matching dollars from employers to support the expansion of internships and co-ops across the state.  The new website,, was developed by NOCHE and a consortium of the Northeast Ohio award recipients to create a regional streamlined resource for students promoting the advantages of internships and co-ops and how to find them.
