2017 Finalists Announced for Region’s Flagship Internship Awards Program

CLEVELAND – The Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education (“NOCHE”) and Cleveland Business Connects Magazine (“CBC”) are excited to announce finalists for The Expys, NOCHE’s flagship awards program to honor the best interns, supervisors and internship programs in Northeast Ohio.  Nominations were accepted for six categories: Best Intern, Best Supervisor/Mentor, Best Small Company Internship, Best Large company Internship, Best College Advisor and Coolest Internship.

The Expys awards luncheon kicks off with guest sign-in and networking at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Windows on the River, and is open to the public.  Tickets are $45 ($35 for NOCHE member schools and paid subscribers of CBC Magazine) and may be reserved online at www.noche.org/Register2017. Advance registration is recommended since tickets are expected to sell out prior to the event.

A panel of independent judges worked hard to review all of the nominations and make their selections for finalists in each category. The judges for 2017 are Dr. Antoine Moss (Millennial Expert & Motivational Speaker, CEO Style Consulting, LLC), Angela Finding (Director, Education & Workforce – Greater Cleveland Partnership), Kelly Keefe (Vice President, Training, Consulting & Coaching Services – ERC), Al Edwards (Regional Human Resources Director, ARC Document Solutions), Amber Dobbins (Operations/Member Services Director, Destination Mansfield-Richland County) Jessica Freshour (AVP, Talent Acquisition Program Manager, University Relations – The Huntington National Bank), Clark Harvey (President, C. Thomas Resume Design and Career Services) and Eric Smer (Director of Community & Workforce Development, Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce). “Reviewing The Expys nomination submissions and choosing from among all of the high quality programs and talented people is not an easy task,“ NOCHE Associate Vice President of Programs Brenda Davis Smith said. “We greatly appreciate the contribution of these professionals who donated their valuable time and expertise.”  Winners will be revealed live at The Expys luncheon on April 19.
