US News & World Report College Rankings Out

Northeast Ohio Colleges Highly Ranked

Great Job NEO

The U.S. News & World Report Annual College rankings were recently issued.  And schools in Northeast Ohio did quite well!

o Ranked as national universities: Case, Ashland, Kent

o Ranked as regional universities: John Carroll, Baldwin-Wallace, Malone, Walsh, Ursuline, Youngstown State

o Ranked as national liberal arts colleges: Oberlin, Wooster, Hiram

o Ranked as regional colleges: Mount Union, Notre Dame

Congratulations on the well deserved recognition.

The rankings measure seven broad categories: peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving, and (for national universities and liberal arts colleges) graduation rate performance and high school counselor reputation rankings.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings tell only one small part of the story of higher education in Northeast Ohio. As the leader of the Northeast Ohio Talent Dividend, our goal is to increase the number of people who have college degrees - including both assicuate's and bachelor's degree - to one million by 2014. We are actively working to improve the graduation rates of the region's 210,000 degree seeking students, and increase the number of people who enroll in college. To do so, we need to look past rankings to ensure our students are part of a college going culture and help students find the right 'fit' during their college search.
